Both socfpga_dwmac_parse_data() in dwmac-socfpga.c and stmmac_dvr_probe() in stmmac_main.c functions call devm_reset_control_get() to register an reset controller for the stmmac. This results in an attempt to register two reset controllers for the same non-shared reset line. The first attempt to register the reset controller works fine. The second attempt fails with warning from the reset controller core, see below. The warning is produced because the reset line is non-shared and thus it is allowed to have only up-to one reset controller associated with that reset line, not two or more. The solution has multiple parts. First, the original socfpga_dwmac_init() is tweaked to use reset controller pointer from the stmmac_priv (private data of the stmmac core) instead of the local instance, which was used before. The local re-registration of the reset controller is removed. Next, the socfpga_dwmac_init() is moved after stmmac_dvr_probe() in the probe function. This order is legal according to Altera and it makes the code much easier, since there is no need to temporarily register and unregister the reset controller ; the reset controller is already registered by the stmmac_dvr_probe(). Finally, plat_dat->exit and socfpga_dwmac_exit() is no longer necessary, since the functionality is already performed by the stmmac core. ------------[ cut here ]------------ WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 1 at drivers/reset/core.c:187 __of_reset_control_get+0x218/0x270 Modules linked in: CPU: 0 PID: 1 Comm: swapper/0 Not tainted 4.6.0-rc4-next-20160419-00015-gabb2477-dirty FireflyTeam#4 Hardware name: Altera SOCFPGA [<c010f290>] (unwind_backtrace) from [<c010b82c>] (show_stack+0x10/0x14) [<c010b82c>] (show_stack) from [<c0373da4>] (dump_stack+0x94/0xa8) [<c0373da4>] (dump_stack) from [<c011bcc0>] (__warn+0xec/0x104) [<c011bcc0>] (__warn) from [<c011bd88>] (warn_slowpath_null+0x20/0x28) [<c011bd88>] (warn_slowpath_null) from [<c03a6eb4>] (__of_reset_control_get+0x218/0x270) [<c03a6eb4>] (__of_reset_control_get) from [<c03a701c>] (__devm_reset_control_get+0x54/0x90) [<c03a701c>] (__devm_reset_control_get) from [<c041fa30>] (stmmac_dvr_probe+0x1b4/0x8e8) [<c041fa30>] (stmmac_dvr_probe) from [<c04298c8>] (socfpga_dwmac_probe+0x1b8/0x28c) [<c04298c8>] (socfpga_dwmac_probe) from [<c03d6ffc>] (platform_drv_probe+0x4c/0xb0) [<c03d6ffc>] (platform_drv_probe) from [<c03d54ec>] (driver_probe_device+0x224/0x2bc) [<c03d54ec>] (driver_probe_device) from [<c03d5630>] (__driver_attach+0xac/0xb0) [<c03d5630>] (__driver_attach) from [<c03d382c>] (bus_for_each_dev+0x6c/0xa0) [<c03d382c>] (bus_for_each_dev) from [<c03d4ad4>] (bus_add_driver+0x1a4/0x21c) [<c03d4ad4>] (bus_add_driver) from [<c03d60ac>] (driver_register+0x78/0xf8) [<c03d60ac>] (driver_register) from [<c0101760>] (do_one_initcall+0x40/0x170) [<c0101760>] (do_one_initcall) from [<c0800e38>] (kernel_init_freeable+0x1dc/0x27c) [<c0800e38>] (kernel_init_freeable) from [<c05d1bd4>] (kernel_init+0x8/0x114) [<c05d1bd4>] (kernel_init) from [<c01076f8>] (ret_from_fork+0x14/0x3c) ---[ end trace 059d2fbe87608fa9 ]--- Signed-off-by: Marek Vasut <[email protected]> Cc: Matthew Gerlach <[email protected]> Cc: Dinh Nguyen <[email protected]> Cc: David S. commit 8edfe2e upstream. Commit 822fb18 ("xen-netfront: wait xenbus state change when load module manually") added a new wait queue to wait on for a state change when the module is loaded manually. Unfortunately there is no wakeup anywhere to stop that waiting. Instead of introducing a new wait queue rename the existing module_unload_q to module_wq and use it for both purposes (loading and unloading). As any state change of the backend might be intended to stop waiting do the wake_up_all() in any case when netback_changed() is called. commit 6b04114 upstream. By default NFSv3 doesn't support ACL (Access Control Lists) which might be quite convenient to have so that mounted NFS behaves exactly as any other local file-system. In particular missing support of ACL makes umask useless. This among other thigs fixes Glibc's "nptl/tst-umask1". Hendrik Brueckner says: ==================== Perf tool bpf selftests revealed a broken uapi for s390 and arm64. With the BPF_PROG_TYPE_PERF_EVENT program type the bpf_perf_event structure exports the pt_regs structure for all architectures. This fails for s390 and arm64 because pt_regs are not part of the user api and kept in-kernel only. To mitigate the broken uapi, introduce a wrapper that exports pt_regs in an asm-generic way. For arm64, export the exising user_pt_regs structure. For s390, introduce a user_pt_regs structure that exports the beginning of pt_regs. Note that user_pt_regs must export from the beginning of pt_regs as BPF_PROG_TYPE_PERF_EVENT program type is not the only type for running BPF programs. Some more background: For the bpf_perf_event, there is a uapi definition that is passed to the BPF program. For other "probe" points like trace points, kprobes, and uprobes, there is no uapi and the BPF program is always passed pt_regs (which is OK as the BPF program runs in the kernel context). The perf tool can attach BPF programs to all of these "probe" points and, optionally, can create a BPF prologue to access particular arguments (passed as registers). For this, it uses DWARF/CFI information to obtain the register and calls a perf-arch backend function, regs_query_register_offset(). This function returns the index into (user_)pt_regs for a particular register. Then, perf creates a BPF prologue that accesses this register based on the passed stucture from the "probe" point. Part of this series, are also updates to the testing and bpf selftest to deal with asm-specifics. To complete the bpf support in perf, the the regs_query_register_offset function is added for s390 to support BPF prologue creation. Changelog v1 -> v2: - Correct kbuild test bot issues by including asm-generic/bpf_perf_event.h for archictectures that do not have their own asm version. - Added patch to clean-up whitespace and coding style issues in s390 asm/ptrace.h (FireflyTeam#4/6) as suggested by Alexei. ==================== Signed-off-by: Daniel Borkmann <[email protected]>

The RDMA netlink core code checks validity of messages by ensuring that type and operand are in range. It works well for almost all clients except NLDEV, which has cb_table less than number of operands. Request to access such operand will trigger the following kernel panic. This patch updates all places where cb_table is declared for the consistency, but only NLDEV is actually need it. general protection fault: 0000 [FireflyTeam#1] SMP DEBUG_PAGEALLOC KASAN Modules linked in: CPU: 0 PID: 522 Comm: syz-executor6 Not tainted 4.13.0+ FireflyTeam#4 Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS rel-1.7.5-0-ge51488c-20140602_164612-nilsson.home.kraxel.org 04/01/2014 task: ffff8800657799c0 task.stack: ffff8800695d000 RIP: 0010:rdma_nl_rcv_msg+0x13a/0x4c0 RSP: 0018:ffff8800695d7838 EFLAGS: 00010207 RAX: dffffc0000000000 RBX: 1ffff1000d2baf0b RCX: 00000000704ff4d7 RDX: 0000000000000000 RSI: ffffffff81ddb03c RDI: 00000003827fa6bc RBP: ffff8800695d7900 R08: ffffffff82ec0578 R09: 0000000000000000 R10: ffff8800695d7900 R11: 0000000000000001 R12: 000000000000001c R13: ffff880069d31e00 R14: 00000000ffffffff R15: ffff880069d357c0 FS: 00007fee6acb8700(0000) GS:ffff88006ca00000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 CR2: 00000000201a9000 CR3: 0000000059766000 CR4: 00000000000006b0 DR0: 0000000000000000 DR1: 0000000000000000 DR2: 0000000000000000 DR3: 0000000000000000 DR6: 00000000fffe0ff0 DR7: 0000000000000400 Call Trace: ? rdma_nl_multicast+0x80/0x80 rdma_nl_rcv+0x36b/0x4d0 ? ibnl_put_attr+0xc0/0xc0 netlink_unicast+0x4bd/0x6d0 ? netlink_sendskb+0x50/0x50 ? drop_futex_key_refs.isra.4+0x68/0xb0 netlink_sendmsg+0x9ab/0xbd0 ? nlmsg_notify+0x140/0x140 ? wake_up_q+0xa1/0xf0 ? drop_futex_key_refs.isra.4+0x68/0xb0 sock_sendmsg+0x88/0xd0 sock_write_iter+0x228/0x3c0 ? sock_sendmsg+0xd0/0xd0 ? do_futex+0x3e5/0xb20 ? iov_iter_init+0xaf/0x1d0 __vfs_write+0x46e/0x640 ? sched_clock_cpu+0x1b/0x190 ? __vfs_read+0x620/0x620 ? __fget+0x23a/0x390 ? rw_verify_area+0xca/0x290 vfs_write+0x192/0x490 SyS_write+0xde/0x1c0 ? It may cause race by setting 'nvmeq' in nvme_init_request() because .init_request is called inside switching io scheduler, which may happen when the NVMe device is being resetted and its nvme queues are being freed and created. We don't have any sync between the two pathes. This patch changes the nvmeq allocation to occur at probe time so there is no way we can dereference it at init_request. If, for any reason, userland shuts down iscsi transport interfaces before proper logouts - like when logging in to LUNs manually, without logging out on server shutdown, or when automated scripts can't umount/logout from logged LUNs - kernel will hang forever on its sd_sync_cache() logic, after issuing the SYNCHRONIZE_CACHE cmd to all still existent paths. PID: 1 TASK: ffff8801a69b8000 CPU: 1 COMMAND: "systemd-shutdow" #0 [ffff8801a69c3a30] __schedule at ffffffff8183e9ee FireflyTeam#1 [ffff8801a69c3a80] schedule at ffffffff8183f0d5 FireflyTeam#2 [ffff8801a69c3a98] schedule_timeout at ffffffff81842199 FireflyTeam#3 [ffff8801a69c3b40] io_schedule_timeout at ffffffff8183e604 FireflyTeam#4 [ffff8801a69c3b70] wait_for_completion_io_timeout at ffffffff8183fc6c FireflyTeam#5 [ffff8801a69c3bd0] blk_execute_rq at ffffffff813cfe10 FireflyTeam#6 [ffff8801a69c3c88] scsi_execute at ffffffff815c3fc7 FireflyTeam#7 [ffff8801a69c3cc8] scsi_execute_req_flags at ffffffff815c60fe FireflyTeam#8 [ffff8801a69c3d30] sd_sync_cache at ffffffff815d37d7 FireflyTeam#9 [ffff8801a69c3da8] sd_shutdown at ffffffff815d3c3c This happens because iscsi_eh_cmd_timed_out(), the transport layer timeout helper, would tell the queue timeout function (scsi_times_out) to reset the request timer over and over, until the session state is back to logged in state. Unfortunately, during server shutdown, this might never happen again. Other option would be "not to handle" the issue in the transport layer. That would trigger the error handler logic, which would also need the session state to be logged in again. Best option, for such case, is to tell upper layers that the command was handled during the transport layer error handler helper, marking it as DID_NO_CONNECT, which will allow completion and inform about the problem. After the session was marked as ISCSI_STATE_FAILED, due to the first timeout during the server shutdown phase, all subsequent cmds will fail to be queued, allowing upper logic to fail faster. Martin Blumenstingl says: ==================== dwmac-meson8b: clock fixes for Meson8b this series is now successfully tested, thus we think it's ready to be applied to your net-next tree. Emiliano reported [0] that he couldn't get dwmac-meson8b to work on his Odroid-C1. This is the (hopefully) final version of this series, which was successfully tested. Due to the fact that the public S805/S905/S912 datasheets all seem to be outdated regarding the description of the PRG_ETH0 (also called PRG_ETHERNET_ADDR0) register Linus Lüssing offered to help testing with an oscilloscope and an Odroid-C1. I would like to say HUGE thanks to him at this point as he spent hours figuring out the effects of the bits that are (though to be) relevant to get Ethernet working on the Odroid-C1. We tested three scenarios, all based on version 3 of this series: 1) MPLL2 at ~500MHz, m250_div set to 1, bit 10 enabled this resulted in a clock rate twice as high as expected at the RGMII TX clock pin (250MHz instead of 125MHz for Gbit connections and 50MHz instead of 25MHz for 100Mbit/s connections). it did not change the rate at the XTAL_IN pin of PHY (which stayed consistenly at 25MHz) 2) MPLL2 at ~250MHz, m250_div set to 1, bit 10 disabled the oscilloscope shows "no clock" for the RGMII TX clock pin at it's highest resolution (and random rates at lower resolutions). XTAL_IN is still at 25MHz 3) MPLL2 at ~250MHz, m250_div set to 1, bit 10 enabled this resulted in a 125MHz signal at the RGMII TX clock pin for Gbit speeds and 25MHz for 100Mbit/s - both values are as expected. The rate on the XTAL_IN pin was at 25MHz -> boot-logs (with the PRG_ETH0 register value) and screenshots from the readings of the oscilloscope can be found at: https://metameute.de/~tux/linux/amlogic/odroidc1/ethernet/ Version 4 of this series is based on the results from Linus Lüssing's help with the oscilloscope and Odroid-C1. Unfortunately I don't have any Meson8b boards with RGMII PHY so I could only partially test this. @Emiliano: Could you please give this version a try and let me know about the results (preferably with a "Tested-by" if it works)? You obviously still need your two "ARM: dts: meson8b" patches which - add the amlogic,meson8b-dwmac" compatible to meson8b.dtsi - enable Ethernet on the Odroid-C1 (according to your last thest a TX delay of 4ns is required to make it work properly) When testing on Meson8b this also needs a fix for the MPLL clock driver: "clk: meson: mpll: use 64-bit maths in params_from_rate", see: https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/10131677/ I have tested this myself on a Khadas VIM (GXL SoC, internal RMII PHY) and a Khadas VIM2 (GXM SoC, external RGMII PHY). Both are still working fine (so let's hope that this also fixes your Meson8b issue :)). changes since v4 at [4]: - dropped "RFT" status since Jerome tested this series successfully! - dropped PATCH FireflyTeam#2 ("simplify generating the clock names"). I will improve the whole clock registration in a separate series. since that patch didn't really improve anything I dropped it for now - added Jerome's Acked-/Reviewed-/Tested-by's - many thanks! changes since v3 at [3]: - renamed the function PATCH FireflyTeam#1 from meson8b_init_rgmii_clk to meson8b_init_rgmii_tx_clk since we now know what the register bits mean - rewrote PATCH FireflyTeam#3 because bit 10 is a gate clock and it seems that there is an internal fixed divide-by-2 clock. see the patch description for a detailed explanation - updated the description of PATCH FireflyTeam#4 and FireflyTeam#5 as the clock we're trying to fix is the "RGMII TX" clock (old version stated that this is the "RGMII clock" or "PHY reference clock"). also updated the numbers in the description now that we have the clock hierarchy right (at least we hope so) changes since v2 at [2]: - added PATCH FireflyTeam#2 to make the following patch easier - Emiliano reported that there's currently another bug in the dwmac-meson8b driver which prevents it from working with RGMII PHYs on Meson8b: bit 10 of the PRG_ETH0 register is configures a clock gate (instead of a divide by 5 or divide by 10 clock divider). This has not been visible on GXBB and later due to the input clock which always led to a selection of "divide by 10" (which is done internally in the IP block, but the bit actually means "enable RGMII clock output"). PATCH FireflyTeam#3 was added to address this issue. - the commit message of PATCH FireflyTeam#4 and FireflyTeam#5 (formerly PATCH FireflyTeam#2 and FireflyTeam#3) were updated and the patch itself rebased because the m25_div clock was removed with the new PATCH FireflyTeam#3 (so some of the statements were not valid anymore) changes since v1 at [1]: - changed the subject of the cover-letter to indicate that this is all about the RGMII clock - added PATCH FireflyTeam#1 which ensures that we don't unnecessarily change the parent clocks in RMII mode (and also makes the code easier to understand) - changed subject of PATCH FireflyTeam#2 (formerly PATCH FireflyTeam#1) to state that this is about the RGMII clock - added Jerome's Reviewed-by to PATCH FireflyTeam#2 (formerly PATCH FireflyTeam#1) - replaced PATCH FireflyTeam#3 (formerly PATCH FireflyTeam#2) with one that sets CLK_SET_RATE_PARENT on the mux and thus re-configures the MPLL2 clock on Meson8b correctly [0] http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-amlogic/2017-December/005596.html [1] http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-amlogic/2017-December/005848.html [2] http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-amlogic/2017-December/005861.html [3] http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-amlogic/2017-December/005899.html [4] http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-amlogic/2018-January/006125.html ==================== Tested-by: Emiliano Ingrassia <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: David S. Background: ExpressKey Remotes communicate their events via usb dongle. Each dongle can hold up to 5 pairings at one time and one EKR (identified by its serial number) can unfortunately be paired with its dongle more than once. The pairing takes place in a round-robin fashion. Input devices are only created once per EKR, when a new serial number is seen in the list of pairings. However, if a device is created for a "higher" paring index and subsequently a second pairing occurs at a lower pairing index, unpairing the remote with that serial number from any pairing index will currently cause a driver crash. This occurs infrequently, as two remotes are necessary to trigger this bug and most users have only one remote. As an illustration, to trigger the bug you need to have two remotes, and pair them in this order: 1. slot 0 -> remote 1 (input device created for remote 1) 2. slot 1 -> remote 1 (duplicate pairing - no device created) 3. slot 2 -> remote 1 (duplicate pairing - no device created) 4. slot 3 -> remote 1 (duplicate pairing - no device created) 5. slot 4 -> remote 2 (input device created for remote 2) 6. slot 0 -> remote 2 (1 destroyed and recreated at slot 1) 7. slot 1 -> remote 2 (1 destroyed and recreated at slot 2) 8. slot 2 -> remote 2 (1 destroyed and recreated at slot 3) 9. slot 3 -> remote 2 (1 destroyed and not recreated) 10. slot 4 -> remote 2 (2 was already in this slot so no changes) 11. slot 0 -> remote 1 (The current code sees remote 2 was paired over in one of the dongle slots it occupied and attempts to remove all information about remote 2 [1]. It calls wacom_remote_destroy_one for remote 2, but the destroy function assumes the lowest index is where the remote's input device was created. The code "cleans up" the other remote 2 pairings including the one which the input device was based on, assuming they were were just duplicate pairings. However, the cleanup doesn't call the devres release function for the input device that was created in slot 4). This issue is fixed by this commit. [1] Remote 2 should subsequently be re-created on the next packet from the EKR at the lowest numbered slot that it occupies (here slot 1). Commit b471f2f ("bpf: implement MAP_GET_NEXT_KEY command for LPM_TRIE map") introduces a bug likes below: if (!rcu_dereference(trie->root)) return -ENOENT; if (!key || key->prefixlen > trie->max_prefixlen) { root = &trie->root; goto find_leftmost; } ...... find_leftmost: for (node = rcu_dereference(*root); node;) { In the code after label find_leftmost, it is assumed that *root should not be NULL, but it is not true as it is possbile trie->root is changed to NULL by an asynchronous delete operation. Patch series "mm, hugetlb: allocation API and migration improvements" Motivation: this is a follow up for [3] for the allocation API and [4] for the hugetlb migration. It wasn't really easy to split those into two separate patch series as they share some code. My primary motivation to touch this code is to make the gigantic pages migration working. The giga pages allocation code is just too fragile and hacked into the hugetlb code now. This series tries to move giga pages closer to the first class citizen. We are not there yet but having 5 patches is quite a lot already and it will already make the code much easier to follow. I will come with other changes on top after this sees some review. The first two patches should be trivial to review. The third patch changes the way how we migrate huge pages. Newly allocated pages are a subject of the overcommit check and they participate surplus accounting which is quite unfortunate as the changelog explains. This patch doesn't change anything wrt. giga pages. Patch FireflyTeam#4 removes the surplus accounting hack from __alloc_surplus_huge_page. I hope I didn't miss anything there and a deeper review is really due there. Patch FireflyTeam#5 finally unifies allocation paths and giga pages shouldn't be any special anymore. There is also some renaming going on as well. This patch (of 6): hugetlb allocator has two entry points to the page allocator - alloc_fresh_huge_page_node - __hugetlb_alloc_buddy_huge_page The two differ very subtly in two aspects. The first one doesn't care about HTLB_BUDDY_* stats and it doesn't initialize the huge page. prep_new_huge_page is not used because it not only initializes hugetlb specific stuff but because it also put_page and releases the page to the hugetlb pool which is not what is required in some contexts. This makes things more complicated than necessary. Simplify things by a) removing the page allocator entry point duplicity and only keep __hugetlb_alloc_buddy_huge_page and b) make prep_new_huge_page more reusable by removing the put_page which moves the page to the allocator pool. All current callers are updated to call put_page explicitly. Later patches will add new callers which won't need it. This patch shouldn't introduce any functional change. find_first_zero_bit()'s parameter 'size' is defined in bits, not in bytes. find_first_zero_bit() is called with size in bytes rather than bits, which thus defines a too low upper limit, causing dw_pcie_ep_inbound_atu() to assign iatu index FireflyTeam#4 to both bar 4 and bar 5, which makes bar 5 overwrite the settings set by bar 4. Since the sizes of the bitmaps are known, dynamically allocate the bitmaps, and use the correct size when calling find_first_zero_bit(). Additionally, make sure that ep->num_ob_windows and ep->num_ib_windows, which are obtained from device tree, are smaller than the maximum number of iATUs (MAX_IATU_IN/MAX_IATU_OUT). It is unlikely request_threaded_irq will fail, but if it does for some reason we should clear iommu->pr_irq in the error path. Also intel_svm_finish_prq shouldn't try to clean up the page request interrupt if pr_irq is 0. Without these, if request_threaded_irq were to fail the following occurs: fail with no fixes: [ 0.683147] ------------[ cut here ]------------ [ 0.683148] NULL pointer, cannot free irq [ 0.683158] WARNING: CPU: 1 PID: 1 at kernel/irq/irqdomain.c:1632 irq_domain_free_irqs+0x126/0x140 [ 0.683160] Modules linked in: [ 0.683163] CPU: 1 PID: 1 Comm: swapper/0 Not tainted 4.15.0-rc2 FireflyTeam#3 [ 0.683165] Hardware name: /NUC7i3BNB, BIOS BNKBL357.86A.0036.2017.0105.1112 01/05/2017 [ 0.683168] RIP: 0010:irq_domain_free_irqs+0x126/0x140 [ 0.683169] RSP: 0000:ffffc90000037ce8 EFLAGS: 00010292 [ 0.683171] RAX: 000000000000001d RBX: ffff880276283c00 RCX: ffffffff81c5e5e8 [ 0.683172] RDX: 0000000000000001 RSI: 0000000000000096 RDI: 0000000000000246 [ 0.683174] RBP: ffff880276283c00 R08: 0000000000000000 R09: 000000000000023c [ 0.683175] R10: 0000000000000007 R11: 0000000000000000 R12: 000000000000007a [ 0.683176] R13: 0000000000000001 R14: 0000000000000000 R15: 0000010010000000 [ 0.683178] FS: 0000000000000000(0000) GS:ffff88027ec80000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 [ 0.683180] CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 [ 0.683181] CR2: 0000000000000000 CR3: 0000000001c09001 CR4: 00000000003606e0 [ 0.683182] Call Trace: [ 0.683189] intel_svm_finish_prq+0x3c/0x60 [ 0.683191] free_dmar_iommu+0x1ac/0x1b0 [ 0.683195] init_dmars+0xaaa/0xaea [ 0.683200] ? klist_next+0x19/0xc0 [ 0.683203] ? pci_do_find_bus+0x50/0x50 [ 0.683205] ? pci_get_dev_by_id+0x52/0x70 [ 0.683208] intel_iommu_init+0x498/0x5c7 [ 0.683211] pci_iommu_init+0x13/0x3c [ 0.683214] ? e820__memblock_setup+0x61/0x61 [ 0.683217] do_one_initcall+0x4d/0x1a0 [ 0.683220] kernel_init_freeable+0x186/0x20e [ 0.683222] ? set_debug_rodata+0x11/0x11 [ 0.683225] ? rest_init+0xb0/0xb0 [ 0.683226] kernel_init+0xa/0xff [ 0.683229] ret_from_fork+0x1f/0x30 [ 0.683259] Code: 89 ee 44 89 e7 e8 3b e8 ff ff 5b 5d 44 89 e7 44 89 ee 41 5c 41 5d 41 5e e9 a8 84 ff ff 48 c7 c7 a8 71 a7 81 31 c0 e8 6a d3 f9 ff <0f> ff 5b 5d 41 5c 41 5d 41 5 e c3 0f 1f 44 00 00 66 2e 0f 1f 84 [ 0.683285] ---[ end trace f7650e42792627ca ]--- with iommu->pr_irq = 0, but no check in intel_svm_finish_prq: [ 0.669561] ------------[ cut here ]------------ [ 0.669563] Trying to free already-free IRQ 0 [ 0.669573] WARNING: CPU: 3 PID: 1 at kernel/irq/manage.c:1546 __free_irq+0xa4/0x2c0 [ 0.669574] Modules linked in: [ 0.669577] CPU: 3 PID: 1 Comm: swapper/0 Not tainted 4.15.0-rc2 FireflyTeam#4 [ 0.669579] Hardware name: /NUC7i3BNB, BIOS BNKBL357.86A.0036.2017.0105.1112 01/05/2017 [ 0.669581] RIP: 0010:__free_irq+0xa4/0x2c0 [ 0.669582] RSP: 0000:ffffc90000037cc0 EFLAGS: 00010082 [ 0.669584] RAX: 0000000000000021 RBX: 0000000000000000 RCX: ffffffff81c5e5e8 [ 0.669585] RDX: 0000000000000001 RSI: 0000000000000086 RDI: 0000000000000046 [ 0.669587] RBP: 0000000000000000 R08: 0000000000000000 R09: 000000000000023c [ 0.669588] R10: 0000000000000007 R11: 0000000000000000 R12: ffff880276253960 [ 0.669589] R13: ffff8802762538a4 R14: ffff880276253800 R15: ffff880276283600 [ 0.669593] FS: 0000000000000000(0000) GS:ffff88027ed80000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 [ 0.669594] CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 [ 0.669596] CR2: 0000000000000000 CR3: 0000000001c09001 CR4: 00000000003606e0 [ 0.669602] Call Trace: [ 0.669616] free_irq+0x30/0x60 [ 0.669620] intel_svm_finish_prq+0x34/0x60 [ 0.669623] free_dmar_iommu+0x1ac/0x1b0 [ 0.669627] init_dmars+0xaaa/0xaea [ 0.669631] ? klist_next+0x19/0xc0 [ 0.669634] ? pci_do_find_bus+0x50/0x50 [ 0.669637] ? pci_get_dev_by_id+0x52/0x70 [ 0.669639] intel_iommu_init+0x498/0x5c7 [ 0.669642] pci_iommu_init+0x13/0x3c [ 0.669645] ? e820__memblock_setup+0x61/0x61 [ 0.669648] do_one_initcall+0x4d/0x1a0 [ 0.669651] kernel_init_freeable+0x186/0x20e [ 0.669653] ? set_debug_rodata+0x11/0x11 [ 0.669656] ? rest_init+0xb0/0xb0 [ 0.669658] kernel_init+0xa/0xff [ 0.669661] ret_from_fork+0x1f/0x30 [ 0.669662] Code: 7a 08 75 0e e9 c3 01 00 00 4c 39 7b 08 74 57 48 89 da 48 8b 5a 18 48 85 db 75 ee 89 ee 48 c7 c7 78 67 a7 81 31 c0 e8 4c 37 fa ff <0f> ff 48 8b 34 24 4c 89 ef e 8 0e 4c 68 00 49 8b 46 40 48 8b 80 [ 0.669688] ---[ end trace 58a470248700f2fc ]--- Cc: Alex Williamson <[email protected]> Cc: Joerg Roedel <[email protected]> Cc: Ashok Raj <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Jerry Snitselaar <[email protected]> Reviewed-by: Ashok Raj <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Alex Williamson <[email protected]>

This triggers a race condition when running the testcase with multiple threads. Sometimes one thread exits with a triple fault while another thread mmaps and operates on the same vCPU. Because CS=0x3000/IP=0x8000 is not mapped, accessing the SMI handler results in an EPT misconfig. This patch fixes it by returning RET_PF_EMULATE in kvm_handle_bad_page(), which will go on to cause an emulation failure and an exit with KVM_EXIT_INTERNAL_ERROR. After v4.12 commit e2460f2 ("dm: mark targets that pass integrity data"), dm-multipath, e.g. on DIF+DIX SCSI disk paths, does not support block integrity any more. So add it to the whitelist. This is also a pre-requisite to use block integrity with other dm layer(s) on top of multipath, such as kpartx partitions (dm-linear) or LVM. Also, bump target version to reflect this fix. The x86 code has several places where it frees parts of kernel image: 1. Unused SMP alternative 2. __init code 3. The hole between text and rodata 4. The hole between rodata and data We call free_init_pages() to do this. Strangely, we convert the symbol addresses to kernel direct map addresses in some cases (FireflyTeam#3, FireflyTeam#4) but not others (FireflyTeam#1, FireflyTeam#2). The virt_to_page() and the other code in free_reserved_area() now works fine for for symbol addresses on x86, so don't bother converting the addresses to direct map addresses before freeing them. Commit b1092c9 ("bcache: allow quick writeback when backing idle") allows the writeback rate to be faster if there is no I/O request on a bcache device. It works well if there is only one bcache device attached to the cache set. If there are many bcache devices attached to a cache set, it may introduce performance regression because multiple faster writeback threads of the idle bcache devices will compete the btree level locks with the bcache device who have I/O requests coming. This patch fixes the above issue by only permitting fast writebac when all bcache devices attached on the cache set are idle. And if one of the bcache devices has new I/O request coming, minimized all writeback throughput immediately and let PI controller __update_writeback_rate() to decide the upcoming writeback rate for each bcache device. Also when all bcache devices are idle, limited wrieback rate to a small number is wast of thoughput, especially when backing devices are slower non-rotation devices (e.g. SATA SSD). This patch sets a max writeback rate for each backing device if the whole cache set is idle. A faster writeback rate in idle time means new I/Os may have more available space for dirty data, and people may observe a better write performance then. Please note bcache may change its cache mode in run time, and this patch still works if the cache mode is switched from writeback mode and there is still dirty data on cache. Petr Machata says: ==================== A test for mirror-to-gretap with team in UL packet path This patchset adds a test for "tc action mirred mirror" where the mirrored-to device is a gretap, and underlay path contains a team device. In patch FireflyTeam#1 require_command() is added, which should henceforth be used to declare dependence on a certain tool. In patch FireflyTeam#2, two new functions, team_create() and team_destroy(), are added to lib.sh. The newly-added test uses arping, which isn't necessarily available. Therefore patch FireflyTeam#3 introduces $ARPING, and a preexisting test is fixed to require_command $ARPING. In patches FireflyTeam#4 and FireflyTeam#5, two new tests are added. In both cases, a team device is on egress path of a mirrored packet in a mirror-to-gretap scenario. In the first one, the team device is in loadbalance mode, in the second one it's in lacp mode. (The difference in modes necessitates a different testing strategy, hence two test cases instead of just parameterizing one.) ==================== Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <[email protected]>

Petr Machata says: ==================== ipv4: Control SKB reprioritization after forwarding After IPv4 packets are forwarded, the priority of the corresponding SKB is updated according to the TOS field of IPv4 header. This overrides any prioritization done earlier by e.g. an skbedit action or ingress-qos-map defined at a vlan device. Such overriding may not always be desirable. Even if the packet ends up being routed, which implies this is an L3 network node, an administrator may wish to preserve whatever prioritization was done earlier on in the pipeline. Therefore this patch set introduces a sysctl that controls this behavior, net.ipv4.ip_forward_update_priority. It's value is 1 by default to preserve the current behavior. All of the above is implemented in patch FireflyTeam#1. Value changes prompt a new NETEVENT_IPV4_FWD_UPDATE_PRIORITY_UPDATE notification, so that the drivers can hook up whatever logic may depend on this value. That is implemented in patch FireflyTeam#2. In patches FireflyTeam#3 and FireflyTeam#4, mlxsw is adapted to recognize the sysctl. On initialization, the RGCR register that handles router configuration is set in accordance with the sysctl. The new notification is listened to and RGCR is reconfigured as necessary. In patches FireflyTeam#5 to FireflyTeam#7, a selftest is added to verify that mlxsw reflects the sysctl value as necessary. The test is expressed in terms of the recently-introduced ieee_setapp support, and works by observing how DSCP value gets rewritten depending on packet priority. For this reason, the test is added to the subdirectory drivers/net/mlxsw. Even though it's not particularly specific to mlxsw, it's not suitable for running on soft devices (which don't support the ieee_setapp et.al.). Changes from v1 to v2: - In patch FireflyTeam#1, init sysctl_ip_fwd_update_priority to 1 instead of true. Changes from RFC to v1: - Fix wrong sysctl name in ip-sysctl.txt - Add notifications - Add mlxsw support - Add self test ==================== Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <[email protected]>

Guillaume Nault says: ==================== l2tp: rework pppol2tp ioctl handling The current ioctl() handling code can be simplified. It tests for non-relevant conditions and uselessly holds sockets. Once useless code is removed, it becomes even simpler to let pppol2tp_ioctl() handle commands directly, rather than dispatch them to pppol2tp_tunnel_ioctl() or pppol2tp_session_ioctl(). That is the approach taken by this series. Patch FireflyTeam#1 and FireflyTeam#2 define helper functions aimed at simplifying the rest of the patch set. Patch FireflyTeam#3 drops useless tests in pppol2p_ioctl() and avoid holding a refcount on the socket. Patches FireflyTeam#4, FireflyTeam#5 and FireflyTeam#6 are the core of the series. They let pppol2tp_ioctl() handle all ioctls and drop the tunnel and session specific functions. Then patch FireflyTeam#6 brings a little bit of consolidation. Finally, patch FireflyTeam#7 takes advantage of the simplified code to make pppol2tp sockets compatible with dev_ioctl(). Certainly not a killer feature, but it is trivial and it is always nice to see l2tp getting better integration with the rest of the stack. ==================== Signed-off-by: David S. Currently, whenever a new node is created/re-used from the memhotplug path, we call free_area_init_node()->free_area_init_core(). But there is some code that we do not really need to run when we are coming from such path. free_area_init_core() performs the following actions: 1) Initializes pgdat internals, such as spinlock, waitqueues and more. 2) Account # nr_all_pages and # nr_kernel_pages. These values are used later on when creating hash tables. 3) Account number of managed_pages per zone, substracting dma_reserved and memmap pages. 4) Initializes some fields of the zone structure data 5) Calls init_currently_empty_zone to initialize all the freelists 6) Calls memmap_init to initialize all pages belonging to certain zone When called from memhotplug path, free_area_init_core() only performs actions FireflyTeam#1 and FireflyTeam#4. Action FireflyTeam#2 is pointless as the zones do not have any pages since either the node was freed, or we are re-using it, eitherway all zones belonging to this node should have 0 pages. For the same reason, action FireflyTeam#3 results always in manages_pages being 0. Action FireflyTeam#5 and FireflyTeam#6 are performed later on when onlining the pages: online_pages()->move_pfn_range_to_zone()->init_currently_empty_zone() online_pages()->move_pfn_range_to_zone()->memmap_init_zone() This patch does two things: First, moves the node/zone initializtion to their own function, so it allows us to create a small version of free_area_init_core, where we only perform: 1) Initialization of pgdat internals, such as spinlock, waitqueues and more 4) Initialization of some fields of the zone structure data These two functions are: pgdat_init_internals() and zone_init_internals(). The second thing this patch does, is to introduce free_area_init_core_hotplug(), the memhotplug version of free_area_init_core(): Currently, we call free_area_init_node() from the memhotplug path. In there, we set some pgdat's fields, and call calculate_node_totalpages(). calculate_node_totalpages() calculates the # of pages the node has. Since the node is either new, or we are re-using it, the zones belonging to this node should not have any pages, so there is no point to calculate this now. Actually, we re-set these values to 0 later on with the calls to: reset_node_managed_pages() reset_node_present_pages() The # of pages per node and the # of pages per zone will be calculated when onlining the pages: online_pages()->move_pfn_range()->move_pfn_range_to_zone()->resize_zone_range() online_pages()->move_pfn_range()->move_pfn_range_to_zone()->resize_pgdat_range() Also, since free_area_init_core/free_area_init_node will now only get called during early init, let us replace __paginginit with __init, so their code gets freed up. Patch series "add support for relative references in special sections", v10. This adds support for emitting special sections such as initcall arrays, PCI fixups and tracepoints as relative references rather than absolute references. This reduces the size by 50% on 64-bit architectures, but more importantly, it removes the need for carrying relocation metadata for these sections in relocatable kernels (e.g., for KASLR) that needs to be fixed up at boot time. On arm64, this reduces the vmlinux footprint of such a reference by 8x (8 byte absolute reference + 24 byte RELA entry vs 4 byte relative reference) Patch FireflyTeam#3 was sent out before as a single patch. This series supersedes the previous submission. This version makes relative ksymtab entries dependent on the new Kconfig symbol HAVE_ARCH_PREL32_RELOCATIONS rather than trying to infer from kbuild test robot replies for which architectures it should be blacklisted. Patch FireflyTeam#1 introduces the new Kconfig symbol HAVE_ARCH_PREL32_RELOCATIONS, and sets it for the main architectures that are expected to benefit the most from this feature, i.e., 64-bit architectures or ones that use runtime relocations. Patch FireflyTeam#2 add support for #define'ing __DISABLE_EXPORTS to get rid of ksymtab/kcrctab sections in decompressor and EFI stub objects when rebuilding existing C files to run in a different context. Patches FireflyTeam#4 - FireflyTeam#6 implement relative references for initcalls, PCI fixups and tracepoints, respectively, all of which produce sections with order ~1000 entries on an arm64 defconfig kernel with tracing enabled. This means we save about 28 KB of vmlinux space for each of these patches. [From the v7 series blurb, which included the jump_label patches as well]: For the arm64 kernel, all patches combined reduce the memory footprint of vmlinux by about 1.3 MB (using a config copied from Ubuntu that has KASLR enabled), of which ~1 MB is the size reduction of the RELA section in .init, and the remaining 300 KB is reduction of .text/.data. This patch (of 6): Before updating certain subsystems to use place relative 32-bit relocations in special sections, to save space and reduce the number of absolute relocations that need to be processed at runtime by relocatable kernels, introduce the Kconfig symbol and define it for some architectures that should be able to support and benefit from it. commit cf3591e upstream. Revert the commit bd293d0. The proper fix has been made available with commit d0a255e ("loop: set PF_MEMALLOC_NOIO for the worker thread"). Note that the fix offered by commit bd293d0 doesn't really prevent the deadlock from occuring - if we look at the stacktrace reported by Junxiao Bi, we see that it hangs in bit_wait_io and not on the mutex - i.e. it has already successfully taken the mutex. Changing the mutex from mutex_lock to mutex_trylock won't help with deadlocks that happen afterwards. The code ignores the fact that if the work is already queued, it will not be scheduled to run one more time. As a result one of the references would not be dropped. When the code waits for the reference to get to zero, during balloon reset or module removal, it gets stuck. Fix it. Drop the reference if schedule_work() indicates that the work is already queued. Note that this bug got more apparent (or apparent at all) due to commit ce66433 ("vmw_balloon: VMCI_DOORBELL_SET does not check status"). Fixes: 83e2ec7 ("VMCI: doorbell implementation.") The call to check_disk_change() then saw an event flag indicating a possible media change and tried to flush any cached data for the device. As part of the flush, it tried to acquire the super_block->s_umount lock associated with the cdrom device. This was the same super_block as created and locked by the previous task. The first task acquires the s_umount lock and then the sr_mutex_lock; the second task acquires the sr_mutex_lock and then the s_umount lock. This patch fixes the issue by moving check_disk_change() out of cdrom_open() and let the caller take care of it. commit 143f6e7 upstream. 7471fb7 ("md/raid6: Fix anomily when recovering a single device in RAID6.") avoids rereading P when it can be computed from other members. However, this misses the chance to re-write the right data to P. This patch sets R5_ReadError if the re-read fails. Also, when re-read is skipped, we also missed the chance to reset rdev->read_errors to 0. It can fail the disk when there are many read errors on P member disk (other disks don't have read error) V2: upper layer read request don't read parity/Q data. So there is no need to consider such situation. This is Reported-by: kbuild test robot <[email protected]> Fixes: 7471fb7 ("md/raid6: Fix anomily when recovering a single device in RAID6.") commit 443f2d5 upstream. Observe a segmentation fault when 'perf stat' is asked to repeat forever with the interval option. Without fix: # perf stat -r 0 -I 5000 -e cycles -a sleep 10 # time counts unit events 5.000211692 3,13,89,82,34,157 cycles 10.000380119 1,53,98,52,22,294 cycles 10.040467280 17,16,79,265 cycles Segmentation fault This problem was only observed when we use forever option aka -r 0 and works with limited repeats. Calling print_counter with ts being set to NULL, is not a correct option when interval is set. Hence avoid print_counter(NULL,..) if interval is set. up_read() may wakeup some tasks, so do not call up_read() in scheduler, or it will cause deadlock as below: Thread FireflyTeam#4 5 (Name: cpu3, state: debug-request) (Suspended : Container) queued_spin_lock_slowpath() at qspinlock.c:369 0xffffff8008119120 queued_spin_lock() at qspinlock.h:88 0xffffff8008f0a470 do_raw_spin_lock() at spinlock.h:180 0xffffff8008f0a470 __raw_spin_lock() at spinlock_api_smp.h:143 0xffffff8008f0a470 _raw_spin_lock() at spinlock.c:144 0xffffff8008f0a470 rq_lock() at sched.h:1,244 0xffffff80080f2f4c ttwu_queue() at core.c:2,442 0xffffff80080f2f4c try_to_wake_up() at core.c:2,658 0xffffff80080eb998 wake_up_q() at core.c:450 0xffffff80080eb6a8 rwsem_wake() at rwsem-xadd.c:703 0xffffff800811a44c __up_read() at rwsem.h:107 0xffffff8008118930 up_read() at rwsem.c:122 0xffffff8008118930 cpufreq_task_boost() at cpufreq_interactive.c:1,449 0xffffff8008a4bdb4 enqueue_task_fair() at fair.c:5,285 0xffffff80080f7814 enqueue_task() at core.c:1,324 0xffffff80080ec15c activate_task() at core.c:1,346 0xffffff80080ec15c ttwu_activate() at core.c:2,240 0xffffff80080f2fc0 ttwu_do_activate() at core.c:2,299 0xffffff80080f2fc0 ttwu_queue() at core.c:2,444 0xffffff80080f2fc0 try_to_wake_up() at core.c:2,658 0xffffff80080eb998 wake_up_q() at core.c:450 0xffffff80080eb6a8 futex_wake() at futex.c:1,636 0xffffff8008159e78 do_futex() at futex.c:3,714 0xffffff8008158fb0 __do_sys_futex() at futex.c:3,770 0xffffff800815bd98 __se_sys_futex() at futex.c:3,738 0xffffff800815bd98 __arm64_sys_futex() at futex.c:3,738 0xffffff800815bd98 __invoke_syscall() at syscall.c:36 0xffffff8008098d6c invoke_syscall() at syscall.c:48 0xffffff8008098d6c el0_svc_common() at syscall.c:117 0xffffff8008098d6c el0_svc_handler() at syscall.c:163 0xffffff8008098ccc el0_svc() at entry.S:940 0xffffff8008083d08 Fixes: 205ed4e (cpufreq: interactive: introduce boost cpufreq interface for task) Change-Id: I9607faa5ede3a662e7f2f55da29b08fc328f4d43 Signed-off-by: Liang Chen <[email protected]>

manifests/rk3399/rk3399_linux_release.xml has the following line in it:
project name="kernel" revision="56b9229b4b31b7f9c8d6951609db43440f8f2631" upstream="stable"
But this commit is not in your public kernel repository, so a current SDK build does not work.
best regards,
Florian La Roche
