Any particular reason as to why this isn't submitted upstream to be a part of the core modules?

I too would love to see this to be part of upstream ansible modules. @kwoodson if it's ok with you we could work on getting this merged.

I had started the process almost a year and a half ago. I'm not sure what the process looks like at this point. I'm glad you find it useful and please feel free to comment on the upstream PR.

hi @kwoodson, i wrote a module myself and i found the process to be pretty straight forward. You usually just have to open the pull request fix some (linter) errors when ansibot returns that the module failed the tests and then, if nobody else sees a problem / missing required feature, you can request your module to be merged. TL;DR just fight ansibot and some reviewers until it becomes mergeable. If you tell me what current problems you're facing just tell me and I'll be happy to help you :)
