What if Reference field is pre-filled?

Hello, I just found this plugin... what if the reference field is already used in the task... then what will the plugin do with the old due date?

In this case the due date is just added at the end of the existing reference content, so no data is lost.

just a thought, is it too complicated to add a new field as 'previous due date' or 'original due date' or 'initial due date' ? just a question
