  • user can choose to toggle on/off a "dead air" alert
  • poll the Currently playing (randomly? on a schedule?) and alert the user when nothing is playing
  • present user a random track to play

@whatSocks Could you elaborate on that a bit more? Seems to me that rather than tell the user nothing is playing across the resonate ecosystem (which as a user I would find a bit disappointing to find out), we might be better served by making it easier for finding tracks to listen to to the user, and improving the track listening experience and bringing it to mobile?

It would be cool to make playing music a more "social" experience, and if users could choose to have their listening be public, it would appear in a little stream (kind of like how bandcamp shows "recent purchases" and how spotify shows you what your friends have been listening to. Also I think you can see on discord what your friends are listening to if they've linked spotify to their discord account.

@simonv3 this was discussed quite a bit in the forum and some calls (relatively recently):

https://community.resonate.is/t/listener-allow-user-to-make-history-public-private/1921
https://community.resonate.is/t/track-related-socializing-the-wave/1830

I agree that as a listener it would be negative, but as an invested member I really want to know this so it feels SUPER REAL when the ecosystem is failing - like house on fire real. I would be motivated to help out more by testing a bit more, perhaps taking the next step to share a track or create a playlist. For me it's an accountability thing.
