Consider disabling syntax check by default

We're moving away from ES5-only code as we're dropping IE support. This means that the default syntax check for es5-only syntax no longer makes sense.
We should either turn it off by default, in a breaking change, or consider seeing what options es-check makes available for us and have a better modern updated syntax check for us.
