Build Instructions for RedHat Family

Installing dependencies

Fedora

sudo dnf install -y \
  make cmake extra-cmake-modules gcc-c++ \
  desktop-file-utils libarchive-devel \
  qt5-qtbase qt5-qtbase-devel qt5-qtwebengine-devel qt5-qtx11extras-devel \
  sqlite-devel xcb-util-keysyms-devel \
  hicolor-icon-theme

Red Hat Enterprise Linux / CentOS

Before installing dependencies required for building Zeal, you will have to install/enable the Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL) repository. This is currently required for cmake3 cmake3-data qt5-qtwebengine-devel.

sudo yum install -y epel-release

Once the EPEL repository is available, you can install the required dependencies as shown below.

sudo yum install -y \
  make cmake3 cmake3-data extra-cmake-modules gcc-c++ \
  desktop-file-utils libarchive-devel \
  qt5-qtbase qt5-qtbase-devel qt5-qtwebengine-devel qt5-qtx11extras-devel \
  sqlite-devel xcb-util-keysyms-devel \
  hicolor-icon-theme

Building Zeal

Fedora

mkdir build && cd build \
    && cmake ../ && make

Red Hat Enterprise Linux / CentOS

mkdir build && cd build \
    && cmake3 ../ && make

Installation

This step is common for both Fedora and Enterprise Linux distros.

sudo make install
